XENIA, Ohio – University of Dayton baseball lost to Toledo on Wednesday afternoon at Athletes in Action Stadium, 7-4.

Senior C.J. Gillman went 4-for-5 at the plate to set his hits season-high and match his career-high for the fifth time. The Littleton, Colo., native drove in three of Dayton’s four runs on Wednesday. Gillman drove in runs in the first, seventh and ninth innings.

Senior centerfielder Bobby Glover extended his hitting streak to a season-long 15 games with a two-out hit in the first inning. Glover would steal second base and score the Flyers’ first run on single from Gillman.

The Rockets would score at least one run in the first four innings and build a 6-1 lead in the seventh inning. Catcher James Miglin went 3-for-5 with an RBI and outfielder Andy Mix finished 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored.

Dayton would add two runs in the bottom of the ninth on a triple from Ian Hundley and another RBI from Gillman. Hundley’s first career triple drove in Spencer Rohr from first, who pinch-hit for Joe Gayda after a leadoff single. Gillman would drive in Hundley on a two-out infield single.

Toledo starting pitcher Ryan Wilkinson (2-1) threw 5 2/3 innings, holding the Flyers to one run during his outing for the winning decision. Dayton starter Parker Schrage (0-5) earned the loss after allowing three runs in the first three innings.

Freshman right-handed pitcher Denton Sagerman pitched the last four innings of the game for the Flyers – striking out three in his longest outing to date.

Toledo and Dayton will meet again this season in Toledo on April 14.

UD returns to action against Oakland on Friday at 3 p.m. ET at Time Warner Cable Stadium. Although Wednesday’s game was not hosted at Dayton’s Time Warner Cable Stadium, it was the start of a 13-game home-stand for the Flyers.
