AMBLER, Pa. – Dayton baseball lost its series finale with Temple, 8-3, on Sunday afternoon at Skip Wilson Field.

Dayton falls to 22-26 and 11-7 in league play as Temple improves to 18-29 and 6-12 after its second consecutive conference series victory.

Three Flyers registered multi-hit games on Sunday, led by a 2-for-3 outing from Brian Blasik with an RBI. C.J. Gillman went 2-for-4 with an RBI and nine-hole hitter Ian Hundley had a pair of hits and scored a run.

Temple hit three homeruns on Sunday as its starting pitcher Patrick Peterson (3-3) held UD to three runs in seven innings pitched to earn the win. Connor Reilly hit a two-run homer in the fifth inning and finished 2-for-4. Temple’s only starter held hit-less was leadoff man Nick Lustrino.

Senior right-handed pitcher Burny Mitchem (2-7) started on the mound for the Flyers, allowing five runs in five innings pitched to receive the loss. Mitchem struck out three to increase his career total to 296 – four shy of becoming the first Flyer to reach 300 career strikeouts.

The Flyers return to action on Tuesday at Time Warner Cable Stadium, hosting Eastern Kentucky at 4 p.m. ET. The last homestand of the season concludes with a three-game set against UMass beginning on Thursday and ending with Senior Day on Saturday.
