DAYTON 55, HOLY CROSS 53

Dec. 2, 2007

Recap |  Box Score

Brian Gregory
"We made that little mini-run in the second half when we were down seven and called a time out. The guys really responded well. It was a knockdown, drag out, physical game. We didn't do a great job on the glass, but at the same time, I thought we scrapped pretty well. Stephen Thomas comes off the bench in the first half and saves our tail at the end. London Warren in the second half really sparked us again. Devin Searcy came off the bench when we needed help when we were in foul trouble and played tremendously. We got a lot of good stuff from a lot of people and you saw at the end of the game, maybe the play that represent some of the growth of our players, Kurt has the ball with the shot clock winding down and doesn't lose his poise. He waits; Brian comes in behind him and makes the big basket for us. This is a very good team we beat tonight."

"It's funny we out rebound them and this year they killed us on the glass. They're big and they're physical and when you don't have Chris (Wright) in there as one of your more physical athletes to help you on the glass, those things are going to happen."

"(Jimmy) played great. He hit a couple of big threes, a couple of big shots for us. He came up with two huge hustle plays at the end of the game. Just a tremendous, tremendous job. You need your seniors to do that stuff. We haven't had and that was the big difference in the game."

Jimmy Binnie
"It was tough to get in the flow. Their zone is pretty tough. They did a nice job of running it. I just tried to make the most of my opportunities and help the team. I was lucky enough to knock them down."

"Every time I was working the elbows and stepping out, they would aware of it. It was easier to drive the gaps, get to the middle and make plays. Just staying on the offensive glass helped too."

"It's big and every win is big whether you are home or away. Obviously, it's been 20 years or so since we went on the road and won two non-conference games in a week. Winning on the road have been tough for us. We have a great group of guys who just play hard and have a lot of heart."

Marcus Johnson
"It was very important. Last year we didn't have a good record on the road. This year we're starting things off on the right foot. That was a big road win. We knew what was at stake and we took advantage of that."

"Basically, we moved the ball around and to get the defense moving. We wanted to open up the gaps and create shots for people."

"This is a new team. Last year is last year and its over. We're just focused on this year right now. Last year is in the past and we're just trying to move forward and be successful this season. It's a great win and I'm happy to win on the road."
