University of Dayton freshman forward Chris Wright has been named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for his performance in UD's 66-34 win over Coppin State. It is Wright's fourth such honor in the six weeks the A-10 has announced its weekly awards this season, and the first time he has been named in back-to-back weeks.

The Trotwood-Madison graduate scored 13 points and grabbed five rebounds in just 20 minutes of action during the lopsided win. He made three of his five field goal attempts and was seven-for-eight from the line.

Wright leads the A-10 in FG% (.627, 47-75), is tied for fifth in the conference in offensive rebounds (2.67), seventh in rebounding (7.1), ninth in FT% (.800, 24-30) and 20th in scoring (13.2). He is the top freshman in the A-10 in all scoring, rebounding, FG% and FT%.

The Flyers are now 8-1, and have won seven straight. Dayton remains home for two home games this week. On Wednesday, UD is back in action against American University. Then on Saturday, the Flyers play host to Loyola of Maryland on Tom Blackburn Court. Game time for both contests is 7:00 p.m. ET.
