DAYTON, Ohio – Josh Parker recorded a career-high 27 points off the bench to fuel Dayton’s 91-57 victory over Fordham on Saturday night at UD Arena.

Twenty-four of Parker’s 27 points came from behind the arc as the junior guard finished 8-of-14 from 3-point range for another career-high of 3-point field goals made in a game. Parker breaks his previous career-high of 25 points set against Northern Iowa on Jan. 17, 2009 with Drake.

Sophomore forward Josh Benson also came off the pine to reach double-figures, finishing with 10 points of 5-of-7 shooting. Dayton’s bench outscored Fordham’s bench 46-9.

Dayton (15-5, 3-2 A-10) out-rebounded Fordham 56-to-38 to improve to14-2 when holding a rebound edge this season. The Flyers drained a season-high 13 3-point field goals for the third time this season, while the 34-point margin of victory is the largest since winning by at least 30 points twice in 2008.

In his first career start, freshman guard Brandon Spearman co-led the Flyers in scoring in the first half with six points as UD went into the break with a 37-20 lead.

Fordham (6-11, 0-5) had three players in double-figures, led by Chris Gaston's 16 points. The Flyers now hold a 21-5 all-time series lead over the Rams, including an 11-1 mark at home.

For the third time in four games the Flyers committed fewer than 10 turnovers after finishing with just six on Saturday – allowing just three Fordham points off turnovers. UD converted 23 points on 13 Fordham turnovers.

In Head Coach Brian Gregory’s 250th game on the sidelines, all of Dayton’s 16 active players clocked in on Saturday. Sophomore Brian Vonderhaar registered his first career field goal in the second half, finishing with two points in two minutes played. Junior Paul Williams saw just three minutes of action while nursing flu symptoms.

The Flyers host Richmond in front of a national audience on Tuesday at UD Arena on ESPNU. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
