Biography:

Mitch Asmus returns for his senior season as a UD walk-on. The 6-foot-5, 195 pound forward was a three-time all-conference player in high school and provides some muscle on the wing for the Flyers.

UD’s walk-ons are asked to do everything the rest of the team does physically, with the added responsibility of learning each Flyer opponent’s offensive and defensive sets.

2012-13
Mitch Asmus played seven minutes in a total of five games for the Flyers in 2012-13. He snagged two rebounds and dished out an assist.

Against Florida Atlantic, Asmus dished out one assist. He grabbed one rebound against Fordham and Duquesne.

2011-2012
Asmus scored three points in seven games of action for the Flyers during the 2011-2012 season. He hit a three-pointer in the NIT First Round at Iowa.

2010-11
Asmus hauled in an offensive rebound against Fordham in two games of action for the Flyers during the 2010-2011 season.

High School
The 6’ 5” 195 pound freshman from Okemos, Michigan averaged 7.9 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game during his senior year of high school.

Asmus was named to the Lansing State Journal’s Honorable Mention team after his senior season. Prior to his senior year, greatlakeshoops.com ranked him number five in their Lansing area top 10 players list.

As a junior, he averaged 9.2 points, 9.0 rebounds and 3.1 blocked shots a game. He was all-conference and academic all-conference all three varsity seasons. Okemos was 21-3 in 2008-09, and 15-5 in 2009-10.
