OXFORD, Ohio – The University of Dayton men’s team had four placers at the All-Ohio Track and Field Championships hosted by Miami University.

The Flyers took the top two spots in the 10,000-meter run. Redshirt senior Greg Roeth won the race in 31:03.93, and junior Stephen Mackell was runner-up in 31:16.43. Roeth becomes the second Dayton runner to win the 10,000-meter run in the last three years, Chris Lemon (class of 2011) was crowned the individual champion in 2010.

Dayton had two runners place in the 3,000-meter Steeplechase.  Junior Jeremy Schiele was within .2 of UD’s team record, which he owns, and took third place in 9:20.22. Sophomore Tyler Roeth ran a personal best time of 9:37.74 to take eighth place and score a point for the Flyers.

“Our showing at a meet such as this demonstrates that the Dayton team has developed competitively in our spring track season and our hope is to continue the success in our fall cross country season,” said UD Head Coach Rich Davis.

The All-Ohio Championship was the final event of the spring season for the Flyer men’s team.
