Hujik leads the Flyers in total punt return yards this season |
University of Dayton senior Tyler Hujik has been named the Division I FCS Co-Punt Returner of the Week by collegefootballperformance.com for his touchdown in Saturday’s victory over Morehead State.
Hujik scored the Flyers only touchdown in the first half when he capitalized on a Morehead mistake. A poor snap forced the Eagles punter to hurry his kick. The ball went off the side of his foot and rolled near the Morehead sideline. Two Eagles players failed to fully control the ball leaving room for Hujik to scoop it up and run 32 yards for a touchdown.
This was Hujik’s only touchdown this season and the second Flyer touchdown off a punt. He averages 7.0 yards per return and leads the team with 70 total punt return yards.
Dayton, 5-3 overall and 3-2 in the PFL, is at Valparaiso Saturday. Game time is 2 p.m. ET.
