University of Dayton defensive end Pat Dowd was honored by College Football Performance for his efforts in last Saturday’s game at Butler.
Dowd, a redshirt sophomore from St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland, had both of the Flyers’ sacks at Butler. Five of his six tackles were unassisted. On the season, Dowd leads UD and is fifth in the PFL in sacks (0.6 per game). He is also second on the team in tackles for loss (4). Ten of his 15 tackles this season have been solo hits.
Dayton leads the league in tackles for loss (7.2 per game) and is third in sacks (3.2).
Other PFL players selected this week were Campbell defensive back Brandon Chandler, Jacksonville kick returner Colby Walden and Davidson tight end Reese Williams.
Dowd and Williams could find themselves matched up against each other this Saturday. Dayton travels to Davidson for a 1 p.m. ET start.
