The men's golf team came back from behind in the second of two rounds in the UC/UD Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday. The "A" Team came in second overall shooting a 632 (323-309) on the 72-par, 7,044- yard Hueston Woods Golf Course. The "B" Team shot a 647 (324-323) to tie Butler for a sixth place finish.
Dayton's best finish came from the "A" team's Brett Gould (79-75--154) who tied for sixth place overall. A trio of freshmen Flyers also appeared in the top twenty after the final round. Rob Chappell (77-78--155) placed sixth while Mitch Custenborder (77-80--157) and Nick Trubee (84-75--159) were able to secure spots in ninth and eleventh place respectively. SeniorAdam Myers made the top twenty as well shooting a 159 (79-80) to tie for eleventh place.
Otterbein College came in first in the tournament, which was co-hosted by UD, with a 620. The tournament's other host, the University of Cincinnati, came in fourth.
The Flyers are back in action beginning on Sunday at the Norm Bullock Collegiate Classic in Fairborn, Ohio.
