NEXT UP FOR UD MEN'S GOLF IS THE EARL YESTINGSMEIER INVITE

In their final tournament before the Atlantic 10 Championship, the Dayton Flyers men’s golf team heads to Muncie, Indiana to play in the 2012 Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational.

Hosted by Ball State University, Dayton will compete against a field that includes Austin Peay, Butler, Cincinnati, Cleveland State, DePaul, Eastern Kentucky, Louisville, SIU-Edwardsville, Ohio, Valparaiso, Vincennes, Wright State and Youngstown State.

The tournament will consist of 54 holes with 36 holes being played Saturday and the final 18 holes scheduled for Sunday. There will be a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. ET Saturday and at 9 a.m. ET Sunday.

Tournament scoring consists of six players with the low five scores counting. Live scoring will be available through Golfstat.com and DaytonFlyers.com.

Dayton has participated in the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational in four of the last five seasons. Last year was the first time UD played the event in the spring. The other three occasions during that span happened in the fall season.

In 2011 at , the Flyers placed in 12th out of 15 teams.

After a hot start to the spring season, Dayton has scuffled in their previous two tournaments. The Flyers finished in 14th at the NYX Hoosier Invitational and in 10th at the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate.

George Rohde has been Dayton’s top golfer during the spring campaign with a 75.8 stroke average. Close behind is Sean Keating with a 75.9 spring stroke average.

The event will be held at the Delaware Country Club in Muncie, Ind. Founded in 1910 as the area's first private golf course, Delaware has developed over the past century into one of the premier facilities in the State of Indiana, becoming the first to receive USGA certifications in 2003.
