PHILADELPHIA - The University of Dayton men's soccer earned a berth in the 2005 Atlantic 10 Championship with a 3-1 win at Saint Joseph's Friday night. Senior Brennen Randquist scored his first goal of his career, and Omar Jarun scored for the sixth straight game. Jonathan Welsh tacked on his fifth goal of the year.

The Flyers are unbeaten in their last six matches (4-0-2) and improve to 10-4-3 overall and 5-1-2 in the A-10. Dayton sits tied for second in the A-10 with Saint Louis and Rhode Island, and could still earn a share of the Atlantic 10 regular season title.

Welsh (St. Charles, MO) put the Flyers up 1-0 in the 24th minute off an assist from Jarun (Peachtree City, GA).

In the 32nd minute, Randquist (Hudson, OH) got into the goals column for the first time. Damion Blackburn (Beavercreek, OH) sent a corner kick into the box where Nate Darr (Centerville, OH) headed the ball down. Randquist buried it past SJU keeper Rob Lavorerio for his first goal in 65 career matches.

Nick Tarkany made one save in net and saw his shutout string snapped at 362:46 when Mike McInaw slipped one past at the 68:41 mark for Saint Joseph's (2-13-1 overall, 0-8-0 A-10).

Jarun added an insurance goal in the 83rd minute, as Dasan Robinson (Elyria, OH) chipped a ball which Jarun finished for his ninth goal of the year. Jarun has scored in seven of eight games, and six straight. They Flyers poured it on in the second half, out-shooting SJU 12-1 in the final 45 minutes. Dayton placed 13 of their 18 shots on frame.

The Flyers earned its' 10th win of the year, marking the third-straight season with 10 or more wins. UD has won 10 or more games in seven of the last nine years (and finished with nine wins the other two seasons).

Dayton finishes the regular season on Sunday at Temple at 1:00 p.m. Temple, at 3-3-2 in the conference, can still make the A-10 tournament field of six, but can't catch the Flyers in the standings. Dayton will hope for a win and Duquesne loss at Charlotte on Sunday to clinch a share of the regular season championship.
