DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton men's soccer team played its Annual Red White Game Wednesday night at Baujan Field. The Red Team prevailed 2-0 in the intrasquad match.
Seniors Jeff Popella and Peter Chimenella each scored goals for the victors.
"It was a great night for soccer played at Baujan Field which is a special place," said head coach Dennis Currier. "We end preseason with the Red White game to see how sharp the guys are once they got their legs back. We saw some good things tonight from both teams.."
Dayton opens the 2009 regular season with a match against the Big East conference's Cincinnati at Baujan Field on Tuesday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. ET. The Flyers are currently on a 20-game unbeaten streak at home, dating back to October 2006.
