PEARSON EARNS ALL-OHIO ACCOLADE

DAYTON, Ohio - University of Dayton senior defender Jack Pearson was selected to the NCAA Division I Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association (OCSA) All-Ohio Team.

Pearson is a two-time NSCAA All-Region member, after being picked to the third team in 2011. He was also a third team all-region honoree in 2009. The Coventry, England native was named the Flyers’ Most Valuable Player during the team’s annual season-ending awards banquet.

Pearson was a four-year starter for the Flyers. In 2008 he earned Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Honors and a spot on College Soccer News All-America Freshman Third Team after UD won the A-10 Tournament Championship.

Pearson continued to rack up honors from the A-10, earning an honorable mention in 2009 on the All-Conference Team and a spot on the A-10’s Second Team in 2010 and 2011. He helped the defense post 29 shutouts during his career, and tallied seven game-winning goals for UD.

Dayton finished the season with a 5-13-1 record, nearly earning up a berth in the Atlantic 10 Championship after going 4-2-1 in its final seven matches. The Flyers return 24 student-athletes for the 2012 season.
