On Saturday, the University of Dayton men’s tennis team was defeated by Michigan State University, 6-1. Currently, the Flyers’ overall record is 2-5.
Freshman Colin Bernier continued his season-long winning streak when he defeated Ryan Richmond 6-3, 6-4, to earn UD its only point of the match. Following the match, Coach Eric Mahone had this to say: “It is great to see the team being a lot more competitive this year. Colin, especially, has certainly done a great job as a young member of the group. All of the guys continue to work hard and improve.”
This coming weekend, the Flyers travel to Illinois where they will face both Northern and Western Illinois on Saturday, February 25. The Northern Illinois match is set for 9:00 AM, while the Western Illinois match begins at 6:00 PM.
