Dayton Flyers

The University of Dayton went 1-3 over the weekend. The Flyers defeated Butler, 4-3, and fell to Wright State, 6-1, and Youngstown State, 4-3. UD’s overall record is now 4-8.  

In their victory against Butler, Robert Salcedo, Joe West, Andrew Hanley and Josh Maylon came through in doubles play to snag the critical point that would put them ahead. Also, Colin Bernier and West would defeat their singles opponents at the 5 and 6 positions to secure winning points in singles competition. Following the match, Coach Mahone said, "This match was certainly tough, but it was great to see the guys come together and stay focused on getting the win."

UD has the next few weeks off to rest and practice.  Of the break, Coach Mahone said, “We are going to take this time to continue to improve and look forward to the A-10 Tournament in the beginning of April.”

The Flyers will not see action until March 23 when they travel to Lima, OH to face Toledo. Match time is set for 6:00 PM.
