The University of Dayton men’s tennis team headed north this past weekend as they faced tough competition from Northern Illinois University and Valparaiso University. All matches were played at the Boylan Tennis Center in Rockford Illinois. The Flyers finished the weekend 0-2 and overall are 1-3.
NORTHERN ILLINOIS
On Friday the Flyers took on Northern Illinois (4-1). The men came out with a slow start in doubles play with an unfinished game from Aidan Koross and Kyle MacDonald at the No.1 spot finished with a 7-7 tie. But saw two victories in their singles match ups.
In singles play the Flyers saw victories from Aidan Koross (6-4, 7-6) after defeating Axel Lagerlof at the No. 1 spot, and from Colin Bernier (6-4, 6-3) at the No. 6 spot taking down Maksym Lagutin.

On Saturday the Flyers put forth a strong battle against the crusaders falling 3-4.
The men were swept in doubles competition but had three strong victories in singles play. Aidan Koross at the No.1 spot defeated Eric Honert (4-6, 7-6, 7-3, 6-0) at the three spot Josh Malyon defeated Michael Savaglio (4-6, 6-3, 6-3) and finally at the five spot Colin Bernier defeated Lucas Waak (4-6, 6-1, 6-1).
