DAYTON TAKES ON 49ERS AT UD ARENA

Justine Raterman leads the Flyers with 12.4 ppg

The University of Dayton women’s basketball team aims to keep its home court winning streak intact when it hosts the Charlotte 49ers Wednesday, Feb. 3 at UD Arena. The Flyers have won six straight at home and are 7-1 overall on Tom Blackburn Court this season.

It will be “Math Day” at UD Arena, an event where grade-school children from all over the Miami Valley will take part in 20 different math-related stations prior to the game from 9:30-11 a.m. Stations include hopscotch, corn hole, measuring exercises, crafts, scavenger hunts and basketball drills. Approximately 3,000 students will then watch the Charlotte-Dayton women’s basketball game which tips off at 11 a.m. ET.

The game will be broadcasted by 1660 Info Radio by commentators Barney Sentner and Tyler Logan. The halftime interview will feature UD assistant coach Angie Russell. The game will also have live streaming video and stats at DaytonFlyers.com.

LAST TIME OUT
The Flyers shot a season-low 26 percent from the floor in a 74-49 loss to No. 10 Xavier Saturday, Jan. 30 at the Cintas Center. Dayton, ranked second in the Atlantic 10 in scoring offense with 71.2 ppg, posted its lowest scoring tally of the season against the Musketeers. Eleven different UD players found the scoring column, but Kristin Daugherty was the only one to reach double figures; she scored nine of her team-high 13 points in the first half for Dayton. XU won the battle of the boards, 56-30. This is just the fourth time this season Dayton has been outrebounded and only the second time this season the Flyers have been outrebounded by double digits.

She is also third on the team in assists with 49. Senior Aysha Jones adds 10.0 ppg and senior Ashley Spriggs tacks on 9.9 ppg. Charlotte is the defending champion of the A-10 Tournament title.
