Fort Wayne, IN – It was an all-around solid performance on Friday evening as the University of Dayton’s women’s tennis team took over Robert Morris, recording a 7-0 victory and improving to 2-1 on the spring season.

Freshman Julie Kirkland and Junior Laina Grote remain undefeated in both singles and doubles play this year, each with a 6-0 record.

“The girls did a great job of staying focused and taking care of business,” reflected Assistant Coach Jenny Belsky. “Now we need get ourselves ready for Cleveland State on Saturday.”

Dayton will remain in Fort Wayne, IN for a Saturday evening match-up against Cleveland State. The Vikings defeated IPFW yesterday, 6-1, and now hold a 3-4 record. Three of their four losses have been to Big Ten rivals Ohio State, Michigan State and Purdue. Although the Flyers have faced Cleveland State for the past four consecutive seasons, they have not defeated them since January 2006.
