CHRIS WRIGHT RECEIVES ALL-DISTRICT HONORS

Chris Wright

NABC All-District Teams

Kansas City, MO – The University of Dayton junior standout Chris Wright has been recognized as a member of the 2010 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division I All-District Second Team.

Selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC, Wright is among 240 student-athletes, from 24 districts, that are now eligible for the State Farm Division I All-America teams. This is the second consecutive year the NABC has honored Dayton’s forward, as he was the 11th player in UD history and first Flyer sophomore named to the Division I All-District First Team in 2009.

In addition to receiving this honor, the Trotwood, Ohio native earned a 2010 First Team All-Atlantic 10 selection and was named the 2010 team recipient of the White-Allen Most Valuable Player Award.

On the court, he leads this year’s squad in double-figure scoring, reaching the mark in 26 of 32 games, and in blocked shots, tying UD’s single-season record with 46. Wright has tallied 12 career double-doubles and is Dayton’s all-time dunk leader with 129 career dunks.

Other members of the All-District Second Team include Ryan Brooks (Temple), Keith Corthran and Delroy James (Rhode Island) and Shamari Spears (Charlotte).

District IV’s First Team is comprised of Lavoy Allen (Temple), Kevin Anderson (Richmond), Jordan Crawford (Xavier), Rodney Green (La Salle) and Damian Saunders (Duquesne). The State Farm All-America teams will be announced on Saturday, April 3 at 11 a.m. during the NABC Convention and NCAA Final Four in Indianapolis, Indiana.
