RAIDERS HOLD FLYERS SCORELESS IN 11-0 LOSS

Zach Jacob was 3-for-5 on Wednesday

DAYTON, Ohio
– The University of Dayton Flyers were unable to snap their losing skid, losing to the Wright State Raiders 11-0 on Wednesday at Nischwitz Stadium. With the loss Dayton falls to 16-22 and is on a seven-game losing streak.

Zach Jacob was 3-for-5 on Wednesday. Jacob was the only Flyer able to register multiple hits. Joe Gayda and Josh Jeffery each had a hit.

Eric Wagner pitched three innings allowing three earned runs, while striking out one. Wagner falls to 2-1 on the season. Trent Haughn pitched one inning of relief without surrendering an earned run. Matt Speckman, Tim Lynn and Tim Corbey also saw action.

Wright State opened the scoring on Ryan Ashe’s sacrifice fly to centerfield in the bottom of the second.

The Raiders chimed in again on a five-run fourth inning to take a 6-0 lead. They added two more in the fifth inning as Garrett Gray doubled to score Quentin Cate. Gray scored later in the frame on a base hit by Aaron Fields.

Cate hit a two-run home run to left field in the bottom of the sixth. Tristan Moore added another run extending Wright State’s lead to 11-0.

Dayton returns to the friendly confines of Time Warner Cable Stadium for a weekend series against the Fordham Rams. First pitch is slated for 3:00 p.m. ET on Friday. Admission is free all season long at Time Warner Cable Stadium.
