Dayton Flyers

YORKTOWN, Ind. - The University of Dayton women's golf team continues their fall campaign heading up to compete at the 2010 Ball State Cardinal Collegiate.

The two-day event will take place on Monday and Tuesday (Sept. 27-28) at the Players Club in Yorktown, Ind.

The Flyers look to continue on a good start to the 2010 fall season. Career-bests of 76 from sophomore Kelly Coakley and 74 from Julie Pouiquen helped the Flyers move up and finish in fourth at the 2010 Chicago State Cougar Classic.

As a team the Flyers improved by 10 strokes from round one. UD completed the tournament tied for fourth after team scores of 323 and 313. In both tournaments this season, the Flyers have finished in the Top Five.

It will be another tough field for UD to compete against. The 15-team field includes Ashland, Ball State, Bowling Green, California (Pa.), Cleveland State, Eastern Kentucky, Indiana State, IUPUI, Northern Illinois, Oakland, Ohio, Southern Illinois, Western Michigan and Youngstown State.

The event will begin with 9 a.m. shotgun starts each day. There will be 18 holes played each day.

Last year the Flyers finished in ninth out of 16 teams. This will be the second straight season and third time in the last six years UD will have competed at the Cardinal Classic.
