USTFCCCA Release

NEW ORLEANS – Senior Maureen Bulgrin capped off an illustrious cross country career at the University of Dayton with All-Academic honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Tuesday.

Bulgrin ended the season earning All-Region status at the Great Lakes Regional after setting a personal-best 6K time of 20:57.75. The Munroe Falls, Ohio native is a three-time Atlantic 10 All-Conference performer and holds a 3.7 GPA in secondary education.

Bulgrin is the only runner in the Atlantic 10 to earn All-Academic honors from the USTFCCCA.

A total of 99 student-athletes represent 62 institutions that compose the group. Sheila Reid of Villanova was named the Scholar Athlete of the Year.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have either earned USTFCCCA All-America status or finished in the NCAA region’s top 15 (or top 10 percent) in 2010.
