Qualifying for the hammer throw will begin on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Robert C. Haugh Track and Field Complex on the campus of Indiana University. Allen and Barnes will represent Dayton in the hammer throw.
Barnes is seeded 14th in the East Region after a program record-breaking throw of 194-05.00 at the All-Ohio Outdoor Championships on April 15. Allen also set her personal record at the All-Ohio with a mark of 183-09.00 to qualify as the 36th seed.
Coorey will participate in the first round of the 1,500 meters on Thursday. The women’s 1500 meters is slated for a 4:30 p.m. start. She is ranked 27th in the East in the 1500 meters after breaking the school’s record on May 13 at the Cardinal Twilight. Coorey finished the 1500 meters in 4:23.82, snapping Bulgrin’s record of 4:25.96 set in April of this year.
Siebenaller represents Dayton in the pole vault. Qualifying is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Thursday. She is ranked 26th in the East. Another record-breaker at UD, Siebenaller owns the school’s pole vault record with a height of 13-01.50 set at the Ashland Alumni Open. She also holds the A-10 Outdoor Championship record with a mark of 12-7.50 set on May 8.
The semifinals for the 10,000 meters will be held at 8:30 p.m. The Flyers have two in the 10K including Bulgrin and Zimmerman. Bulgrin’s record-breaking performance (35:17.18) in the 10K at the All-Ohio landed her a spot in the meet as the 37th seed.
She will be joined in the 10K by Zimmerman, who was announced as the Atlantic 10’s Student-Athlete of the Year in the outdoor season last week. Her mark of 35:30.32 at the A-10 Championships earned her second place and a spot on the A-10’s All-Conference Second team.
