IU Relays Results | Tom Wright Classic Results
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The University of Dayton women’s track and field team wrapped up another strong weekend with great performances at the IU Relays and the Tom Wright Classic in Bowling Green, Ohio.
“I was really pleased with the results our girls had this weekend,” University of Dayton women’s track and field coach Jason Francis said. “I thought we did a good job of performing against a strong field at both of the meets.”
Kassy Thomas ran the third-best 600 meter time in University of Dayton indoor track and field history. Thomas had a time of 1:38.48 in the 600 meters.
The Dayton throwers dominated the field at the Tom Wright Classic with nine top ten finishes combined in the shot put and weight throw.
Aly Weeman topped her previous personal record in the weight throw with a throw of 17.12m (56-02.00) at the Tom Wright Classic. Weeman’s mark ranks fifth all-time in UD indoor track history.
In the 800 meters, Lauren Clark set the program’s best time of the season. Clark had a time of 2:19.65 on Saturday.
UD returns to action on Feb. 3 and 4, when they travel to the Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind.

Weight Throw
Aly Weeman led the Flyer charge placing fourth with a toss of 17.12m (56-2). Christine Borchers (15.21m), Renee Otte (15.02m) and Miranda Nelson (14.89m) placed sixth, seventh and eighth respectively. Samm Hortsman placed tenth with a toss of 14.35m and Lundyn Thompson placed13th with a throw of 13.68m.
Shot Put
Junior Christine Borchers led the team with a toss of 12.78m (41-11.25) good enough for fourth place. Miranda Nelson followed in fifth with a throw of 12.60m (41-4.25”). Lundyn Thompson and Samm Hortsman rounded out the Flyer effort placing seventh and eighth with tosses of 11.12m (36-5.75) and 10.63m (34-10.25),

60m Hurdles Prelims
Rebecca Maj was the only Dayton participant in this event finishing with a time of 9.30.
60m Dash Prelims
Cassie Grandstaff ran well finishing in a time of 8.05.
1 Mile Run
Mary List and Megan Collins represented UD in the 1 Mile Run. List finished with a time of 5:30.35 while Collins came through at 5:38.24
Pole Vault
Katrina Steinhauser turned in the best mark of the day with a height of 3.55mm placing her in eighth. Hanna Krizmanic turned in the same height but Steinhauser reached in less jumps. Krizmanic placed 11th.
3000m Run
Lindsey Cummings and Katie Ollier scored valuable points for the Flyers in the 3,000m run. Cummings finished in eighth with a time of 10:18.84 and Ollier crossed in 10th with a time of 10:21.80.
600m Run
Kassy Thomas was the best Flyer finisher with a time of 1:38.48. Her time ranks third in UD indoor track and field history in the 600 meter.
High Jump
Ellie Grandi tied her career best with a mark of 1.67m (5-05.75) to place fourth in the high jump. Juliana Lawniczak had a mark of 1.52m (4-11.75).
200 Meter Dash
Noelle Tazioli placed 15th with a time of 26.56 in the 200 meter dash. Cassie Grandstaff finished with a time of 26.75.
400 Meter Dash
Mariah Curtis clocked in with a time of 1:01.57. It was Curtis’ top time of the year in the 400 meters. Julie Kolodziej finished in 1:02.42.
800 Meter Run
Lauren Clark led the pack for the Flyers in the 800 meter run. Clark finished with a time of 2:19.65. It was the best time of the year for the program and was just .02 seconds from tying the fifth-best 800 meter time in University of Dayton history. Kelsey McDonald had a time of 2:21.21. Chelsey VanHook rounded out the group for UD with a time of 2:24.19, her best time of the year.
4x400 Relay
Dayton’s top squad of Cassie Grandstaff, Kelsey McDonald, Kassy Thomas and Rachel Weber finished the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:56.67. The second squad consisting of Noelle Tazioli, Chelsey VanHook, Lauren Clark and Julie Kolodziej had a final time of 4:09.55.
