NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Dayton’s Justine Raterman has been named the Atlantic 10 Women’s Basketball Player  of the Week the league office announced on Monday. The award marks the second for Raterman this season. She was honored for games played during the week of Feb. 20-26, scoring 57 points and leading the Flyers to two victories
 
Raterman averaged 28.5 points and 6.0 rebounds in Dayton’s 2-0 week. In Dayton’s 83-54 win over Xavier, Raterman scored a game-high 25 points and also had two blocked shots. She tied her career-high with 32 points in Dayton’s overtime win over Duquesne, including a perfect 6-of-6 showing at the free throw line.

In addition to her 32 points, Raterman grabbed a team-high three steals and a game-high eight rebounds. She also clinched the game by knocking down two free throws with eight seconds remaining in overtime, two of her six overtime points. During the week she shot 60 percent (22-38) from three-point range. She hit six treys, bringing her career total to 177 and moving her to second all-time on UD’s career list for three-pointers made.

It marks the 13th A-10 weekly honor of her career.

The Flyers will play in the 2012 Buick Atlantic 10 Conference Women's Basketball Championship this weekend. Dayton, vying for the program's first-ever Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball title, will play Saturday, March 3 at 7:30 p.m. against the winner of the first round match up of #6 Charlotte vs. #11 Saint Louis.
