USTFCCA - All- Academic Team List
NEW ORLEANS - The University of Dayton women’s track and field team was selected as a U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team for the 2011-12 season.
The Flyers’ team GPA last season was a 3.41 which ranks 24th in the nation out of 171 programs earning the accolade. Additionally, Dayton had the highest GPA of any Atlantic 10 institution. UMass (3.34), La Salle (3.25), Temple (3.25), Saint Joseph’s (3.19), Charlotte (3.13), Richmond (3.08) and Rhode Island (3.05) also received honors from the USTFCCCA.
This is the fifth consecutive year that the Flyers have earned this distinction. The honor is given to track and field programs that have a team cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or higher.
Earlier this summer Emily Zimmerman was selected as a Capital One/CoSIDA Second Team Academic All-American®.
