UD SOFTBALL TO HOLD OPEN TRYOUTS TUESDAY, AUGUST 26

Cara Clark and the Flyer softball program will hold open tryouts August 26.

Aug. 13, 2008

  • NCAA Drug Testing Consent Form
  • Head Coach Cara Clark and the University of Dayton softball program will hold an open tryout for the upcoming season on Tuesday, Aug. 26 at 4:30 p.m. at the Physical Activities Center (PAC). All full-time UD students are invited to try out.

Those individuals expressing interest must bring NCAA Drug Testing Consent Form as well as an orange, walk-on tracking form. Both items need to be provided to participate in tryouts.

Prior to the tryout, prospective walk-ons must present written documentation of an updated physical completed by a physician in the last six months - which states the student is cleared to participate in athletic activities - to the Dayton athletic training staff. Once the athletic training staff has signed off on the physical, they will present the prospective student-athlete with the walk-on tracking form.

In addition to the proper forms, athletes need to bring tennis shoes and be dressed for fitness testing.

Contact assistant coach Christine Steines by phone at (937) 229-4188 or by e-mail at Christine.Steines@notes.udayton.edu for more information and directions to the athletic training facilities and PAC.

In her first season at the helm Clark guided the 2008 edition of the Flyers to their first 20-win campaign in three years and more than doubled their Atlantic 10 win total from the 2007 season. In addition, Clark's 20 wins was the most by any first-year head coach at UD.
