PHILADELPHIA - University of Dayton freshman forward Kristin Daugherty earned her second Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week award of the season on Monday. Also for the first time this season, the Flyer women's basketball team (11-2) picked up five votes in AP Top 25 Poll on Monday.

Dayton is in the midst of the third-longest active winning streak in the nation and the second longest in program history at 11 consecutive victories. It also marks the first time that the Flyers have been recieving votes under the direction of fifth-year head coach Jim Jabir.

Daugherty, a River View High School grad, averaged 15.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per game while shooting .500 from the field in wins over Clemson (81-43) and Eastern Michigan (59-57) this past week. Daugherty started with 10 points on 4-for-6 shooting in just 20 minutes of action against the Tigers last Tuesday. She then lifted UD from 11-points down to beat EMU on Friday with 17 of a season-high 20 points in the second half. The 6-0 forward scored 10 in a row at one point to take the Flyers from down eight to up two in the closing minutes. She added seven rebounds, two blocks, an assist and a steal in the road win over the Eagles.

Overall this season, Daugherty is third on the team in both scoring (9.2 ppg) and rebounding (5.2 rpg). She has started all 11 games that the Flyers have won this season and lead the team in free throw shooting at 81.5 percent (22-for-27) while ranking fourth in field goal shooting at 40.4 percent (44-for-109).

UD will put its winning streak on the line this weekend when it plays host to the Inaugural Dayton Flyer Classic Presented by Dynamic Pension Services. The Flyers will take on Cornell on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. ET. Dayton will them face either Central Michigan or Texas A&M - Corpus Christi on Sunday in the Consolation Game at 1 p.m. ET or the Championship Game at 3 p.m. ET.
