The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) has announced the final standings for the 2011-12 Learfield Sports Director’s Cup, and the University of Dayton was second among Atlantic 10 institutions with 100 points thanks to the NCAA appearances by the Flyer women’s soccer, volleyball, women’s basketball and baseball teams.
UD was second behind Temple’s 173.5 points. Last year, Dayton was first (152) and Temple was second (148).
Stanford won the Cup for the 18th consecutive year.
There are four Learfield Sports Directors' Cup awards, one to honor the institution with the best overall athletics program in each of the NCAA's Divisions I, II and III, and the NAIA. The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between NACDA and USA Today.
