RICHMOND, Ky. – The Dayton Flyers women’s golf team will play in its third spring tournament of the season at the Eastern Kentucky University’s Colonel Classic this weekend at Arlington.

Live scoring during the tournament will be available through DaytonFlyers.com. 

The 13-team, 54-hole event will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. ET on Friday. The final round on Saturday will begin with tee times at 8:30 a.m. ET.

Participating teams include Akron, Austin Peay, Ball State, Bowling Green State, Dayton, Eastern Kentucky (Maroon), Eastern Kentucky (White), Ferris State, Morehead State, Ohio, Tennessee State, Toledo and Western Kentucky.

During the 2011-12 campaign freshman Grace Nikolai has an 80.2 stroke average in the last three tournaments, which is tops on the squad. Meanwhile, sophomore Maggie Prokop leads the team with 14 rounds played and showcases an 84.9 stroke average.

The teams are scheduled to play two 18-hole rounds on Friday and one round on Saturday. Dayton played at the EKU Colonial Classic last back in 2009. In that tournament, the Flyers placed in 17th.

The course at Arlington has a par of 72 and plays 5,809 yards. This marks the 19th year for the Colonel Classic.
