DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton, ranked No. 34 in the NSCAA preseason poll, lost 4-1 to the No. 32 Miami Hurricanes in the Flyers’ final tune up before the start of the regular season. There were 487 fans in attendance for the exhibition game at Baujan Field.
The game was a stark contrast to the 4-1 victory UD enjoyed over the Haiti National Team just six days earlier.
The Hurricanes held just a 1-0 lead after the half. Two goals in a span of six minutes in the 64th and 70th minutes gave Miami a 3-0 lead. The Hurricanes scored another goal with just 25 seconds left in regulation.
The Flyers open the 2012 regular season at the University of Texas this Friday, Aug. 17 at 8 p.m. ET and UTSA Sunday, Aug. 19 at 2 p.m.
Dayton’s regular season home opener is Thursday, Aug. 23 at 7 p.m. vs. Boston University.
