NASHVILLE, TN -2006 Softball Preview

The University of Dayton softball team's schedule season opener versus Belmont has been called off due to the weather. The Flyers will now open the 2006 campaign Friday, February 24, at the College of Charleston Cougar Classic.

At the Cougar Classic, the Flyers will meet the host College of Charleston at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, and then face North Florida at 8:00 p.m. (with live stats available via Gametracker). Dayton also faces East Carolina (6:00 p.m.) and Marshall (8:00 p.m.) on Saturday before wrapping up the tournament with Akron on Sunday at 11:30 a.m.

The Flyers will be on the road for the College of Charleston Softball Cougar Classic, the Eastern Kentucky Invitational, and the Orlando Rebel Games -- a total of 20 games -- before opening the home portion of the 2006 schedule on March 21, against Wright State at UD Softball Stadium.
