The University of Dayton softball team won its A-10 opener against Rhode Island, 7-2, but has dropped three straight conference games en route to its 1-3 Atlantic 10 record. The Flyers will face Saint Louis (9-17, 2-0 A-10) in a doubleheader Saturday at the Billiken Sports Center with a 2 p.m. ET start. SLU opened up A-10 action with a sweep of St. Bonaventure by scores of 4-1 and 4-0.

MY OH MEYER - A-10 HONORS

Dayton's Molly Meyer was named the Atlantic 10's Co-Player of the Week for her performance from March 2-13. Meyer went 6-for-8 against Cleveland State in a non-conference twinbill on Saturday, March 14. She was one dinger shy of hitting for the cycle against Morehead State Sunday, March 8. As of March 25 Meyer led the A-10 in nearly every offensive category. She is at the top of pile for hits (33), runs scored (25) and batting average (.452). The next closest player, Brooke Darreff of Saint Joseph's, has a .394 batting average. In addition to also leading the Flyers in those categories she leads UD in slugging percentage (.644), on base percentage (.506), doubles (6), homeruns (2), total bases (47), stolen bases (6) and stolen base percentage (1.000).

DOUBLING UP

The Flyers turned five double plays at the Comfort Inn & Suites Tournament on March 7-8. Senior Katie Jordan was in on three of those GDPs, fielding the ball, tagging out the runner and tossing to first to complete the double play. Brandy Brown got in on the action, snagging a line drive and throwing out the runner at first. Molly Meyer made a spectacular play in the opening game of the tournament against Morehead State, making a running catch and gunning down the runner back at first to complete a double play. The Flyers have turned 11 DPs on the season.

NEED A BIB FOR ALL THOSE RBIs

Junior Anne Maci leads the Flyers with 14 RBI this season. She tallied four of Dayton's eight RBI at the Comfort Inn & Suites Tournament. Sophomore Emily Stegeman has tallied 11 this season. She drove in three of Dayton's seven runs in the Flyers' A-10 opening win over Rhode Island. The two have combined for 25 of Dayton's 63 runs batted in this year.

WEB GEMS

Molly Meyer had three putouts against Wright State at the Comfort Inn & Suites Tournament, including a diving catch in right center and a high line drive she snagged.
