NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – University of Dayton redshirt freshman Jordan Jennings was tabbed the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week after a stellar week at the plate for the Flyers.
Jennings, a Flower Mound, Texas native, batted .375 (6-16) last week with two home runs, three RBI and two runs scored. She had a base-hit in all five games played, including a multi-hit performance against Temple. Dayton recorded its first conference sweep of the season against Saint Joseph’s following a key two-out, walk-off double by Jennings in the bottom of the eighth inning in Dayton’s 2-1 victory.
Dayton travels to IUPUI on Tuesday, April 17 for a non-conference doubleheader against the Jaguars. Game time is slated for 4 p.m. in Indianapolis.
