This past weekend, the University of Dayton women’s tennis team was defeated by Butler and Charlotte.
Against Butler, Sammi Hornbarger defeated Gabrielle Rubenstein 6-3, 6-2, 4. Later, in doubles play, Hornbarger paired up with Georgia Lammers to beat Ashley Breitenbach and Angelina Qin, 8-5. Butler would go on to win the match 6-1.
Due to weather, several of the matches played against Charlotte were left unfinished. “We continue to improve daily and are working hard to become a stronger unit,” said Assistant Coach Cami Hubbs.
The Flyers return to the court this weekend when they visit Eastern Kentucky University on Friday and then come home to play IUPUI and Ohio Northern on Saturday and Sunday.
