Biography:

2011-2012
Johnston finished out her career as a staple of the UD middle distance crew. In her last indoor season she ran personal bests in the 1000m (2:58.36) and the Mile (5:10.38) both at the Notre Dame Meyo Invitational. Johnston was also a member of the 4x800m relay team that placed fourth at the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships. During her outdoor season Johnston set a personal record in the 1500m run at the University of Cincinnati Early Bird Invite with a time of 4:39.89.

2010-2011
Johnston placed 46th at her final Flyer 5k with a time of 20:27.5. She finished in 44th at the National Catholic Invitational with a time of 18:44 shaving off a good amount of time from her previous performance. At the NCAA Pre-Nationals Johnston came across in 250th place with a finishing time o f24:25. At the Atlantic 10 Championships Johnston placed 73rd (19:11.8).

2010-2011
Johnston proved to be vital to the team’s success, especially in the middle distance events. She participated in four events for the Flyers. She was able to record personal bests in the 1,000m and the 1 Mile run. Her 1Mile best came at the All-Ohio Championships and placed ninth with a time of 5:12.65. Johnston also had a good day at the Findlay Track and Field Classic as she placed second overall in the 1,000m run and was also a member of the 4x800m relay team that placed second. One of her best races came at the Atlantic 10 Championships in the 1,000m run. She ran a personal best time of 3.01.31. Johnston’s outdoor campaign was also impressive. She set personal bests in the 800m and 1,500m run. Her 800m best came at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championships with a time of 2:15.20. Her 1,500m best came at the Miami Invitational with a time of 4:41.96.

2009-2010
Johnston continued to have a solid career for the Flyers, especially in the Mid-Distance events. This season she was able to run the 800 Meter Run at the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships. She would place 12th in the event with a final time of 2:19.65.

2008-2009
(INDOOR) Kelly had a successful first season with the Flyers in the 800 meter run...Had a first place finish at the Kent State Invitational with a time of 2:17.25...Snagged a second place finish at the Findlay Classic (2:18.15), and ran a 2:19.43 at the Akron Zips Invitational... Also competed in the 600 meter run once at the Indiana Open, placing tenth with a time of 1:37.86... Johnston was also a member of the 4x800 relay team that took second place at the Atlantic 10 Championship (9:13,06)... That same group also created a meet record time of 9:13.60 at the Findlay Classic.
(OUTDOOR) Competed in the 800 meter run three times... Took seventh place at the Atlantic 10 Championships with a time of 2:14.33... Ran a 2:15.75 at the Stan Lyons Invitational, taking third place... Ran the 1,500 meter run at the Early Bird Relays where she had a third place finish (4:45.09)... Also competed in the 400 meter hurdles at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational taking fourth place with a time of 1:07.31.

High School
A two-time Cincinnati Enquirer All-City selection, the St. Ursula Academy student was also a member of the 2007 all-state team in the 800 meter and 4x800 meter relay...Holds the school record in the 400 meter and 800 meter at St. Ursula where she was also a member of the National Honor Society.
