Garcia used her athleticism to scored valuable points for the Flyers in the pentathlon (indoor) and heptathlon (outdoor). Her best day in the pentathlon was the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships. She set an overall point best of 3,124 points. She set a personal best in the high jump (1.67m), had the best mark of the day in the high jump (1.67m) in the combined events group. She also participated in the individual high jump and finished ninth (1.60m). Garcia continued to perform best at the Atlantic 10 Championships as she set a personal best in the heptathlon (4,286 points) at the outdoor championships. She once again had the heptathlon best in the high jump (1.63m) and the third best javelin throw (29.72m).
Garcia excelled in multiple events throughout her high school years. She set her high school record in the high jump and competed in this event three times at the Illinois state meet. Was named to the Wheaton Spring Sport Honor Roll as well as being All-Area during her senior season. Garcia was All-State in the high jump her junior and senior years. During her senior year she made All-State in the 300 meter Hurdles as well. She placed first in her conference in the high jump in 2011 as well as the 300 and 100 meter hurdles. Garcia placed seventh at the AAU Nationals in 2010 and 2011 in the heptathlon. She proved to also excel in her studies as she was on the Honor Roll.
The daughter of Rick and Mona Garcia. Has an older brother Ricky and a twin brother Chris who plays golf at Millikin University.
