DAYTON, Ohio – University of Dayton volleyball's 2012 Spring schedule of competition features a home match against Michigan and dates at Purdue and Louisville. All of Dayton’s Spring opponents competed in the 2011 NCAA Volleyball Championship field.

Dayton will host two best-of-three matches with Michigan on Saturday, March 31 at the Frericks Center. The first match begins at 12:30 p.m. ET. Following a short break after the first match, the second match will begin.

The Wolverines and Flyers met on the same court last season during the Dayton Marriott Flyer Classic, which resulted in Dayton's only three-set loss of the season. Michigan finished 2011 in a tie for No. 20 in the AVCA Top 25 after advancing to the NCAA Championship Regionals.

Dayton, Purdue and Ball State will participate in round-robin competition on Saturday, April 14 at Purdue’s Holloway Gymnasium. All three head coaches in the pairing are from Muncie, Ind. – Kelly Sheffield (UD) and brothers Steve Shondell (BSU) and Dave Shondell (PU). Tenth-ranked Purdue advanced to the NCAA Championship Regionals last season and MAC tournament champion Ball State exited after the first round.

The Flyers conclude Spring competition on April 21 in Louisville, pitting former head coach at conference-rival Saint Louis, Anne Kordes, against UD again. In her first season at Louisville, Kordes led the Cardinals to the BIG EAST title while advancing to the second round of the NCAA Championship – losing to Purdue.

The Flyers finished the 2011 season with a 25-7 record, captured the program’s ninth A-10 regular season title, seventh A-10 Championship title and made a fifth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Championship. Head Coach Kelly Sheffield was named the Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season, while the Flyers featured a program-best three AVCA All-Americans – all of whom return next Fall.
