The University of Dayton women's basketball program and head coach Shauna Green has announced the addition of Ryan Gensler to the staff as an assistant coach in April 2017.

"I am so excited to have Ryan join our staff," said Coach Green. "I've known him for many years and know he will have an immediate impact on our program. He brings a wealth of knowledge and his familiarity with the A-10 will be beneficial. His positive energy, tireless work ethic and ability to build relationships will help us continue to have success here at Dayton."

"I am honored to be joining the University of Dayton and excited to be working again with Shauna Green," Gensler said.  "I have always believed in her since we worked together at Providence College.  I am ecstatic to contribute to the winning culture here at UD.  I have been fortunate to be a part of a lot of success in my coaching career and it is my hope to bring that experience to our program to help us find success on the court, in the classroom and in the community."

Gensler comes to Dayton after spending the past two seasons on the University of Florida women's basketball staff, serving as the video coordinator. In 2017, he was named the Co-National Basketball Video Coordinator of the Year by the Collegiate Sports Video Association Executive Board (CSVA). He was also on the staff for the 2015-16 season in which the Gators went 22-9 and earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament.

Prior to his time in Gainesville, Gensler was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for Loyola-Maryland from 2013-15, an assistant coach at fellow Atlantic 10 program St. Bonaventure from 2011-13 (during which the Bonnies advanced to the Sweet 16), and Director of Basketball Operations/Graduate Assistant Coach at Providence College from 2009-11.

Gensler earned his bachelor's degree from Saint Joseph's University in 2009 before receiving his master's degree from Providence in 2011.

Gensler lives in Dayton with his wife Leanna and their dog, Bo.
