DAYTON, Ohio - University of Dayton softball head coach Cara LaPlaca has announced the addition of four newcomers to join the Flyers for the 2015 season: IF/C Kailee Budicin (Lisle, Ill./Naperville North), LHP Manda Cash (Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne), SS Kayla Haberstich (Bartlett, Ill./Bartlett) and OF Jaclyn Kweder (Carmel, Ind./Carmel). All have signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the program in the fall of 2014.

"We are thrilled to be welcoming these four student-athletes to our Flyer Family," commented LaPlaca following the signings. "They each boast a strong softball and academic background and have demonstrated a commitment to compete at the highest levels of the game. We expect them to have an immediate impact on our team and contribute to the ongoing elevation of our softball program."

Infielder/catcher Kailee Budicin is a three-time varsity letterwinner heading into her senior season at Naperville North High School and holds the NNHS single-season records in RBI and doubles. Budicin was named one of Chicago Sun Times' Top 100 Softball Players in 2013 and was a 2012 All-Area Honorable Mention. She earned All-Conference and Academic All-Conference honors in back-to-back seasons of 2012 and 2013 and has also been named to the honor roll.

Budicin played club ball for New Lenox Lightning and Lemont Rockers. She helped the Rockers' Gold squad to second-place finishes in the Colorado Fireworks Tournament in 2013 and the Oklahoma Hall of Fame Tournament in 2011. Also an avid tennis player, Budicin is a two-time Naperville Tennis Club Champion.

Left-handed pitcher Manda Cash for Columbus' Worthington Kilbourne High School is a two-time Ohio Capital Conference First Team honoree and was also a Special Mention honoree following her freshman season in 2011. She has been named her team's Most Outstanding Player (2011) and Best Offensive Player (2012) while also picking up First Team All-Metro and Second Team All-District honors in 2013. Cash has three times been named a WKHS Scholar Athlete, is a member of the French Honors Society and is a two-time recipient of the Academic Honors Award.

Cash helped lead Ohio Nightmare to a 5-3 mark and 17th overall finish at ASA Gold during the summer of 2013. She went 3-2 in the circle with a 1.24 ERA and 44 SO in 45 innings, while hitting .286 with two RBI for the tourney. For the summer, Cash tallied a 15-5 record in the circle, boasting a 1.55 ERA while recording 174 strikeouts in 127 innings of work. Both of Cash's older sisters are University of Dayton graduates.

Kayla Haberstich is currently a senior at Bartlett High School and was the starting shortstop for BHS's 2012 IHSA Class 4A State Runner-Up team. Heading into her senior season, Haberstich has led the Hawks in RBI and home runs the last two years and was named a team captain and Team MVP in 2013. Following her junior year she earned the Daily Herald Prep Sports Excellence Award, was named to the Upstate-Eight All-Conference First Team and the Courier News All-Area squad while garnering All-Area accolades from the Daily Herald in both 2012 and 2013.

Haberstich has been named to the High Honor Roll all six semesters she has been at Bartlett and was named to the Academic All-Conference Team in 2012 and 2013. She is also a member of National Honors Society and won the Prairie State Achievement Award in mathematics. Haberstich plays club ball with the New Lenox Lightning Gold.

Outfielder Jaclyn Kweder helped lead her Carmel High School Greyhounds to a 2012 Indiana Semi-State appearance after hitting a grand slam to secure Carmel's win over rival Fishers in the sectional final during her sophomore campaign. Kweder has twice been named to the All-Hamilton County First Team heading into her senior year with Carmel. She held a .337 average, slugging at .512, and led the team with 19 RBI for her junior season at Carmel.

Kweder plays her club ball with Premier Gold Indiana Shockwaves and was the 'Waves' leading hitter in 2013. The Indiana Shockwaves have twice won the ASA State Championship (2011 and 2012) with Kweder on the roster.
