Ally Malott has been named the Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week as announced by the conference office Monday, Dec. 8.
Rhode Island's Charise Wilson claimed her second straight Rookie of the Week honor. The awards were given for games played Dec. 1-7.
A native of Middletown, Ohio, Malott averaged 19.0 points/game and 9.0 rebounds/game over two wins during the week for Dayton. Malott was the team's leading scorer with 18 points to go with 11 rebounds for her first double-double of the season at Wright State (W, 79-76)
on Wednesday. She then followed that with a 20-point, seven-rebound performance at home against Purdue (W, 63-61). For the week, she went 14-of-27 from the field for a .519 field-goal percentage and was nearly perfect at the line, sinking seven of eight attempts.
The Flyers return to action on Wednesday as they play host to the Toledo Rockets for School Day. Tip-off is set for 11 a.m. at University of Dayton Arena.
