DAYTON –
Six home games, beginning with a first-ever meeting with Georgetown University, highlight the 2014 University of Dayton football schedule.

UD opens the season with three non-conference games.  After the season opener at home against Georgetown on Saturday, Sept. 6, the Flyers will play two Northeast Conference opponents.  UD's first road game will on Sept. 13 against NEC co-champion Duquesne.  The Dukes were undefeated at home in 2013.

Dayton will play its final non-conference game at home against Robert Morris and its new coach John Banaszak.

After a bye week, the Flyers will play their first two Pioneer Football League games on the road.  They open PFL play at Davidson Oct. 4, and then visit 2013 PFL co-champion Marist on Oct. 11.  UD will host Morehead State on Oct. 18, and then travel cross country to .take on San Diego on Oct. 25.

Dayton will be home for two straight games – Nov. 1 against Valparaiso and Nov. 8 versus Drake.  The last regular season road game will be at Butler, the first PFL team to participate in the NCAA FCS playoffs on Nov. 15.  The Flyers will close out the 2014 regular season at home on Nov. 22 against Campbell.

UD was 7-4 overall and 5-3 in the PFL last season.  Of the teams on this year's schedule, Dayton will face the three teams who finished with better PFL records in 2013 – Butler, Marist and San Diego – on the road.

Dayton returns 40 letterwinners and 13 starters (six offense, five defense, both specialists from last season's team.  Those players, along with 43 of their teammates, will be in uniform Sunday at Welcome Stadium for the annual spring game.  Kickoff will be at 1 p.m. ET, and unlike past spring games, will be strictly offense vs. defense instead of dividing the team into two different squads.

Sunday's honorary coaches will be two stars of UD's 1984 undefeated regular season team, Mark Herr and Phil Nussman.

The day will begin with a youth clinic at 11 a.m. ET.  Prior to the start of the spring game, the 2014 team captains will be introduced.  After two 15-minute periods, the game will conclude and the 2014 recruits in attendance will be introduced to the upperclassmen who will serve as their "big brothers" during two-a-days in August.

The youth clinic as well as the spring game are free and open to the public.
