#UDWBB PICKED TO FINISH SECOND IN A-10 PRESEASON POLL

All Three Seniors Named to Preseason All-Conference Teams

RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Dayton women's basketball team has been selected to finish second in Atlantic 10 standings for 2015-16 in voting among league coaches. All three seniors have been named to preseason All-Conference teams. The conference announced the poll and the preseason all-conference awards Wednesday in conjunction with its annual Media Day, held at the Richmond Marriott.

George Washington was selected as the preseason favorite with 12 of 14 first-place votes. Dayton was picked to finish second in the 2015-16 poll with 177 points and two first-place votes. The Flyers went 28-7 overall and 14-2 in the Atlantic 10 in 2015, are coming off a thrilling run to the Elite Eight in which they defeated tenth-seeded Iowa State, second-seeded Kentucky and third-seeded Louisville before falling to eventual National Champion, Connecticut.

UD senior Amber Deane joins George Washington's, Jonquel Jones and Caira Washington, George Mason's Taylor Brown and St. Bonaventure's Katie Healy on the Preseason All-Conference First Team. Flyer senior Kelley Austria was,selected to the Preseason Second Team All-Conference along with Duquesne's April Robinson, Rhode Island's Charise Wilson, Richmond's Janelle Hubbard and Sadie Stipanovich of Saint Louis.

Dayton's senior Jodie Cornelie-Sigmundova, Fordham's Samantha Clark, La Salle's Micahya Owens, Ciara Andrews of Saint Joseph's and VCU's Adaeze Alaeze were all named to the Preseason All-Conference Third Team. Austria, Cornelie-Sigmundova, Jones, were joined by La Salle's Jasmine Alston and Mesi Price of Saint Louis on the Preseason All-Defensive Team.

The Flyers will its only exhibition game of the year on Friday Nov. 6 against Gannon at 7 p.m. in UD Arena. The 2015-16 women's basketball season tips off on Friday, Nov. 13 as Dayton played host to Yale for the program's annual School Day. Tip-off is set for 11 a.m.

The Atlantic 10 will start the New Year and the conference schedule with a full slate of games during the first weekend of 2016. Four games on Saturday, Jan. 2, tip-off the conference schedule, followed by three games including a national television doubleheader on CBS Sports Network on Sunday, Jan. 3.

The 2016 Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Championship will be held once again at the Richmond Coliseum March 2-6. The championship, which includes all 14 teams, concludes on Sunday, March 6 at noon on ESPNU.
