The elite television appetite for Flyer basketball is no surprise.
Last season, the Dayton television market was the eighth-best in the country when it comes to ESPN college basketball for the second straight year, according to research analyzed by ESPN. ESPN examined the 56 metered markets that carried college basketball games in 2014-15, and ranked them by ratings.
This was the 13th year ESPN compiled the data and Dayton has always been in the top 14 markets. The Dayton area has been in the top 10 five consecutive years and six of the last eight.
Dayton's 2015-16 regular season opener against Southeast Missouri State is set for 7 p.m. ET and will be televised on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel.
UD is also working with its television partners on streaming opportunities for local games, and will be announced at a later date.
The Flyers went 27-9 and advanced to the Third Round of the NCAA tournament last season. UD has won 53 games in the last two seasons, including five NCAA tournament games.
