ORLANDO – University of Dayton junior point guard
Scoochie Smith was named to the Advocare Invitational All-Tournament team, leading UD to a second-place finish in the tournament over Thanksgiving weekend.
Smith led the Flyers in scoring (14.3), rebounding (6.7), assists (4.3) and 3-pt. FG% (.556, 5-9) in Orlando. He scored a career-high 19 points in the semifinal win over Monmouth.
Joining Smith on the Advocare Invitational All-Tournament Team were tournament MVP Justin Robinson of Monmouth, Trevon Bluett and Jalen Reynolds of Xavier and Jarrod Uthoff of Iowa.
For the season, Smith leads Dayton in minutes (31.2), assists (4.3) and steals (2.0). He is also second in scoring (12.3).
UD returns to action on Saturday, Dec. 5 when the Flyers host North Florida. Game time on Tom Blackburn Court is 2 p.m. ET.
