Will Bardo was one of only 50 players named to the 17
th annual Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association (FCS ADA) Academic All-Star Team.
From the FCS ADA website:
"Football players from all Football Championship Subdivision institutions are eligible for the award. Each of the nominees was required to have a minimum grade point average of 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale) in undergraduate study and have been a starter or key player with legitimate athletics credentials. He must have reached his second year of athletics and academic standing at the nominated institution and have completed a minimum of one full academic year at the nominated institution. He must also have participated in 50 percent of the games played at his designated position."
Bardo was named to the team by finishing with a 3.46 GPA in Mechanical Engineering.
Not only was Bardo a successful student, he was also successful on the field. A four year starter, he finished his Dayton career with 42 starts, throwing for 6,803 yards and 48 touchdowns. He also finished second on the career total yardage list (8,641). He was the 2013 team MVP.
Bardo is one of five Pioneer Football League members to be named to the team. Joining him are Lucas Smith (Campbell), Donald Payne (Stetson), Troy McClelland (San Diego), and Stuart Barkley (Valparaiso).
