PIERRE NETS THE A-10 PLAYER OF THE WEEK AWARD

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – University of Dayton junior forward Dyshawn Pierre has been named the Atlantic 10's Player of the Week after posting back-to-back double-doubles.

Pierre enjoyed a career-setting week. He became the 44th member of UD's 1,000-point club after tallying 15 points and 10 rebounds in the win over Saint Joseph's. He followed that performance up with a career-high 27 points to go with 12 rebounds at Duquesne.

He finished the week averaging 21 points, 11 rebounds with nine assists, zero turnovers and four blocks in the two games.

In the Atlantic 10, Pierre ranks 10th in scoring (13.3 ppg), sixth in rebounding (8.0) and ninth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.6).

Pierre also leads UD in rebounding and is second on the team in points per game. He also has registered a double-double in the previous three games.

This is the second weekly award for the Whitby, Ontario native this year. Pierre also won the award on Jan. 19.

The Flyers return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 25 hosting the George Mason Patriots at 7 p.m. ET.
