DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton women's basketball team has announced its 2015-16 non-conference schedule. This year's slate features six teams that reached the NCAA Tournament a year ago, with two of those teams coming to UD Arena, and games against potentially five opponents that were either ranked or receiving votes in the final 2014-15 USA Today Coaches' Poll.

"This non-conference schedule is a big step forward for our program and will be a perfect opportunity for our team to get better heading into Atlantic 10 Conference play," said head coach Jim Jabir. "We are excited to host some outstanding teams at UD Arena this winter and look forward to continued support from our awesome fan base. We'll play three games in three days at the Gulf Coast Classic, very similar to a post-season environment, and it will be a great experience for our players."

Dayton finished last season with a 28-7 overall record and was ranked 17th in the final USA Today Coaches' Poll after the program's first appearance in the NCAA Elite Eight®. The Flyers will open 2015-16 with an exhibition against Gannon followed by three-straight home games against Yale on Nov. 13, Vanderbilt on Nov. 18, and Wisconsin on Nov. 22. Dayton and Yale will tip-off at 11 a.m. for the Flyers' annual School Day.

The Flyers will then travel to southwest Florida to play in the Gulf Coast Showcase from Nov. 27-29. In addition to Dayton, the field for this year's tournament includes: No. 10 Louisville, LSU, Maine, Marist, Missouri State, Purdue and No. 14 Stanford.

Louisville, LSU and Stanford all qualified for the NCAA Tournament, with Louisville and Stanford reaching the Sweet 16®. Dayton advanced to the Regional Final by defeating Louisville, 82-66, last season. The bracket for the Gulf Coast Showcase will be released at a later date.

After the trip to Florida, the Flyers will travel to Toledo on Dec. 2 to face the Rockets. Toledo's Nancy Kessler was a member of the U19 Canadian National Team that recently played in the 2015 U-19 FIBA Women's World Championship.

A few days later, Dayton will be on the road again to play the Purdue Boilermakers on Dec. 6.

The Flyers finally return home on Dec. 11 to face No. 19 Gonzaga, a team that also advanced to the Sweet Sixteen® last season. No. 15 Princeton comes to town on Dec. 20. A season ago, Princeton won 31 straight games before falling in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Flyers will close out the non-conference schedule with a trip to Green Bay, a team that lost to Princeton in the 2015 NCAA Tournament.

The Atlantic 10 portion of the schedule will be released at a later date. UD's home schedule will includes match-ups with Davidson, Duquesne, Fordham, George Mason, George Washington, St. Bonaventure, Saint Louis and VCU. The away calendar sends Dayton to Duquesne, George Washington, La Salle, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Richmond, Saint Joseph's and Saint Louis.
