ORLANDO – ESPN Events has released the bracket for the 2015 AdvoCare Invitational, and as expected, the University of Dayton Flyers will take on the Iowa Hawkeyes in the first round on Thursday, Nov. 26. 

But the big news is that the Dayton-Iowa game will be televised on ESPN2 at 9 p.m. ET, and the Flyers will play in the evening session on both of the first two days in the tournament.

UD and Iowa are paired in the evening bracket with Notre Dame and Monmouth. In the other bracket, the first-round matchups are Alabama versus Xavier, and Wichita State against Southern Cal.

"Our fans are ready to take over HP Field House.' said Assistant Athletics Director Adam Tschuor. "The last few years we've treated our in-season tournaments as destination events and this will be no different. The evening tip times allow our fans to enjoy local attractions, gather with other Flyer fans, and then support the Flyers on national TV. Ticket sales have been strong, and I expect that to continue through the fall."

First-round winners will advance to the tournament semifinals, while losing teams will play in the consolation bracket on Nov. 27. After a break on Saturday, the tournament will finish with placement games on Sunday, Nov. 29. The championship game is at 4:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2.

All 12 games of the tournament will be broadcast on ESPN2, ESPNU or Watch ESPN.

The AdvoCare Invitational, previously the Orlando Classic and before that, the Old Spice Classic, will be held at HP Field House at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex near Orlando, Fla. Additional information, including travel packages, can be found on the AdvoCare Invitational website.

This is the 10th year of the tournament. Dayton won the 2011 Old Spice Classic in coach Archie Miller's first season as UD's head coach.

In other Flyer basketball news, the University announced it will play its lone exhibition game this season Saturday, Nov. 7 at home against Division II Saginaw Valley State of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. SVSU was 21-9 in 2014-15.

UD opens the regular season with at home starting on Friday, Nov. 13 against the Southeast Missouri Redhawks.

Dayton went 27-9 and advanced to the Third Round of the NCAA tournament last season. The Flyers return four starters –senior Dyshawn Pierre, and juniors Kyle Davis, Kendall Pollard and Scoochie Smith – along with eight letterwinners. The quartet will serve as UD's 2015-16 co-captains.
